Role Overview

The Associate Director, Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, will join NAB’s Client Management & Execution (CME) team within Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB). This role focuses on driving complex infrastructure, energy, and utilities transactions while maintaining a high standard of client service and portfolio oversight. The position offers a career-building opportunity with potential for professional growth and exposure to strategic projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage large, complex transactions within the CME Directorship alongside senior team members.
  • Provide expert input on transaction structuring, credit submissions, and financial modeling, and make recommendations to credit committees.
  • Drive transactions forward while engaging multiple stakeholders, including client coverage teams, product partners, and client support teams, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Oversee risk profile monitoring and compliance requirements for client portfolios, maintaining high portfolio hygiene standards.
  • Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings to support business outcomes and manage portfolios effectively.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to senior associates, associates, and analysts to develop team capabilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience in a similar role within Corporate & Institutional Banking.
  • Strong skills in credit writing, transaction structuring, and document negotiation.
  • Awareness of market risk issues, including relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership abilities.
  • Proven strategic planning and execution skills.

Education

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, finance, or a related discipline are typically required.
