What SAP UX work can involve
SAP Design describes a multidisciplinary community spanning product and user experience design, research, accessibility, content, strategy, data and design operations. The work is not simply making screens attractive. Enterprise users complete consequential tasks across data, permissions, processes and devices, often inside a wider product ecosystem.
Depending on the team, a role may emphasize product discovery, interaction design, prototyping, research, information architecture, design systems, accessibility or UX product management. Read the current description for the actual mix. Knowledge of SAP Fiori can help, but a portfolio should demonstrate the reasoning behind patterns rather than imitate components without context.

Score each case study from zero to two on these dimensions:
- Problem clarity: Is the user, business task and constraint explicit?
- Research: Does evidence inform the direction, or is “user-centered” only asserted?
- Workflow depth: Do you show states, exceptions, permissions and edge cases?
- System fit: Do components and patterns behave consistently across the journey?
- Accessibility: Did you test keyboard, semantics, contrast or assistive-technology needs?
- Decision evidence: Can the reviewer see alternatives and why one was chosen?
- Outcome: Is there a credible user, quality or business measure?
- Collaboration: Is your own contribution clear inside the team result?
A polished mockup with no decision trail is weaker than a modest interface backed by clear discovery, trade-offs and validation. Remove confidential information and label reconstructed artifacts honestly.
Build one case study SAP reviewers can navigate
Begin with a one-sentence answer: “I redesigned X for Y user because Z failure created this cost or risk.” Show the old workflow, critical evidence and constraints. Explain two alternatives, the trade-off selected and how the design changed after testing. Finish with the outcome and what you would improve next.
For an enterprise example, include at least one complex state: role-based access, bulk work, an error-recovery path, localization, audit history or cross-product handoff. Demonstrate how a design system accelerated decisions without replacing research. Link only prototypes a reviewer can access without requesting permission.

Run a scenario exercise: a workflow is consistent with the design system but users repeatedly abandon it. Describe how you would separate discoverability, permission, performance, content and process problems; choose research; and define a decision threshold. This reveals diagnostic thinking better than reciting a design process.
