Within this ecosystem, the Tax Operations team plays a central role in ensuring compliance, governance, and efficiency in global tax processes. It manages tax and finance data collection, VAT and withholding tax compliance, corporate tax reporting, and audit support while continuously driving best practices across regions.
The Role in Focus: Senior Finance Executive – Tax Operations
The Senior Finance Executive will be an integral part of UniOps’ Tax Operations team, supporting Unilever’s Future of Tax (FOT) transformation — a digital finance initiative redefining global tax compliance. This project aims to establish a standardized, agile, and data-driven operating model across Unilever’s global, regional, and country teams, along with external partners such as the Big 4 consulting firms.
The position calls for an expert who can ensure accuracy in tax data, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and operational excellence in all tax-related processes. The role also contributes to Unilever’s vision of building a world-class Tax Data Centre of Excellence (COE) that delivers high-quality, insight-driven financial data for decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and compute VAT, WHT, and related returns accurately.
- Manage tax data end-to-end, ensuring hygiene across master and transactional records.
- Perform rule-based computations for CIT tax provisions, advance taxes, and quarterly reports.
- Analyze trends, identify discrepancies, and maintain strong control over tax-related accounting entries.
- Coordinate timely payments to tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure compliance with Unilever’s Tax Control Framework and audit standards.
- Collaborate with global tax teams and outsourced partners to align with regulatory updates.
- Provide analytical support and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Maintain systematic archiving of tax data and filings in line with ITGC and audit protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement, deploying digital tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Skills and Expertise
Technical Proficiency
- Strong accounting knowledge and exposure to direct, indirect, and withholding taxes.
- Working experience with SAP (FI module); familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or workflow management tools is advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to consolidate information from ERP systems.

Qualifications and Experience
- CMA with 2–3 years of experience, or CA with 1–2 years of experience (preferably first-attempt pass).
- Semi-qualified CA with 3–4 years of experience may also apply.
- Prior experience in accounting (R2R), finance, or direct/indirect tax functions.
