Monte Carlo is hiring an Applied Forward Deployed Engineer for a full-time, remote position open in the United States. This is a post-sales technical role: the engineer takes ownership after a customer signs, implements Monte Carlo in the customer’s real data environment, and helps the customer reach active use. The official posting specifies roughly 25% travel to customers. Monte Carlo is the hiring company; WorkinVirtual has curated this summary from its official posting, and applications go to the employer’s application page.

What you would do

  • Lead technical deployment after a deal closes, configuring monitors, alerts and integrations around each customer’s actual environment and pipelines.
  • Write production-quality Python, SQL and API integrations in customer Snowflake, Databricks or related data platforms, and resolve technical obstacles to a working implementation.
  • Help customers move from initial setup to sustained product use, making adoption and measurable value part of the role’s technical outcome.
  • Extend adoption beyond the first contact to additional teams, data assets and use cases within a customer organization.
  • Bring implementation feedback from the field to Monte Carlo’s Product and Engineering teams, and help establish the forward deployed engineering playbook as an early member of this function.

Background Monte Carlo seeks

  • At least five years of hands-on experience designing and building on Snowflake, Databricks or a modern cloud data warehouse, together with production Python and SQL skills.
  • Comfort integrating REST APIs in a customer’s environment and owning post-sale technical results in implementation, solutions engineering, technical onboarding or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Ability to work directly with data engineers and explain progress and decisions to senior business leaders.
  • Experience building structure in ambiguous situations instead of relying on a fixed support queue or a prewritten implementation playbook.
  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Looker, data quality, pipeline monitoring or incident response is helpful but described as optional.
