Associate Software Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Associate Software Engineer to join our remote engineering team.

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will help design, develop, test, and maintain software applications while working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional product teams.

You will contribute to real development projects, write and review code, troubleshoot software issues, test new functionality, and help improve existing applications.

This opportunity is well suited to an early-career developer who has built a foundation in software development and is ready to gain more professional engineering experience.

Candidates should have at least 12 months of practical software development experience. Relevant experience may include professional employment, internships, freelance development, open-source contributions, or substantial software projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and documented code
  • Build and improve application features
  • Debug and resolve software issues
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Write and maintain software tests
  • Work with APIs and databases
  • Support application releases
  • Maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and DevOps teams

Qualifications

  • At least 12 months of practical software development experience
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, PHP, Go, or similar
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Understanding of APIs and web applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work effectively within a remote development team

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with modern web-development frameworks
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of automated testing
  • Basic CI/CD knowledge
  • GitHub or other development portfolio
  • Agile or Scrum experience

Compensation

The expected compensation range is $70,000–$105,000 per year, depending on experience, technical skills, location, and the employer’s compensation structure.
