Role Overview
Danone North America is seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager to lead Metabolics and Ketogenics sales across the Southwest territory. This fully remote position offers the flexibility of a home-based office while maintaining strong field presence. The assigned territory includes Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah, Alabama, and Mississippi.
The role focuses on driving sustainable growth by building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, expanding access to Nutricia products, and strengthening partnerships across the medical nutrition ecosystem.

Core Responsibilities
Sales Growth and Clinical Engagement
The Territory Sales Manager drives sales of metabolic and ketogenic products while consistently meeting or exceeding assigned quotas. This includes educating healthcare professionals on ketogenic dietary therapies for epilepsy and inborn errors of metabolism. Engagement involves neurologists, epileptologists, geneticists, registered dietitians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses.
The role also includes conducting clinical presentations, product demonstrations, and professional training sessions. In addition, collaboration with marketing teams supports the execution of effective sales strategies.
Territory and Relationship Management
Strong partnerships are built with key customers, healthcare systems, and accounts across the region. The manager promotes Nutricia products with a clear understanding of state-level access, coverage, and fulfillment dynamics.
Collaboration with regional DME, HHC, distribution partners, and market access teams plays a key role in closing new business opportunities. Representation at industry trade shows and facilitation of metabolic and ketogenic patient events further strengthen market presence.
Strategic Business Planning
The role requires developing and executing a comprehensive territory business plan with a focus on access, coverage, and fulfillment. Plans are reviewed and updated quarterly in alignment with national sales leadership.
Data-driven insights guide decision-making by analyzing territory performance, market trends, and competitive activity. Budget ownership for territory programs is maintained while delivering regular business reviews with strategic partners and internal stakeholders.
Account Management Excellence
As the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, the Territory Sales Manager identifies opportunities that benefit from cross-functional collaboration. Strategic account plans may include lunch-and-learn sessions, peer-to-peer programs, customer reviews, and targeted educational events.
Company tools and resources are used effectively to support goal achievement and long-term account growth.
Sales Operations and Administration
Accurate documentation of customer interactions is maintained using Salesforce and Veeva platforms. Power BI supports performance tracking and analytical reporting.
The role includes preparing quarterly business reviews, managing sample budgets, submitting expense reports in line with company policies, and coordinating field ride-alongs with national sales leadership. Field visits are planned well in advance to maximize efficiency and remain compliant with travel and expense guidelines.
Working Environment
This position is performed remotely with significant field engagement. Up to 50 percent of domestic overnight travel is required, including occasional weekend travel for meetings, trade shows, and patient events. The role involves computer-based work, frequent communication, and occasional lifting of products up to 30 pounds.
Required Profile
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates bring 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical nutrition, or DME and HHC environments. Alternatively, five or more years of clinical experience in healthcare settings is acceptable.
Experience working with neurologists, epileptologists, keto centers, or epilepsy focused networks is strongly preferred. A background in medical nutrition adds additional value.
Skills and Competencies
Successful candidates demonstrate strong business acumen, consultative selling expertise, and polished clinical presentation skills. They communicate clearly, listen actively, and negotiate effectively.
Additional strengths include time management, strategic planning, data interpretation, and the ability to manage large territories efficiently. Comfort with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office tools, and digital sales resources is essential.
Personal attributes include accountability, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, and resilience. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is USD 90,000 to 115,000, depending on experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.
