Job Description

Storyteller is looking for a Cloud & Platform Engineer to help manage, improve, and scale its Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for engineers who enjoy building reliable cloud platforms, improving operational efficiency, and automating infrastructure to support business growth.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the company’s cloud environment, focusing on improving infrastructure performance, optimizing cloud costs, strengthening reliability, and supporting long-term platform scalability. Working closely with the engineering team, you’ll help create a cloud environment that is secure, efficient, and ready to support continued product growth.

As the platform evolves, you’ll also have opportunities to expand your responsibilities into automation, deployment pipelines, security improvements, infrastructure architecture, and broader technical operations. This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to influence how the company’s cloud platform develops over time.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the company’s Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor cloud usage and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Build reporting and visibility into cloud resource utilization.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, or similar technologies.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve platform reliability.
• Improve deployment processes, platform stability, and infrastructure performance.
• Support security best practices across cloud services and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure planning and technical improvements.
• Evaluate new cloud technologies and recommend improvements that support long-term scalability.
• Take ownership of infrastructure decisions from planning through implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Knowledge of cloud cost management and infrastructure optimization.
• Experience automating cloud operations and administrative tasks.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and platform reliability.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Comfortable working within a fully remote engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration platforms.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices.
• Experience designing cloud infrastructure from the ground up.
