Citigroup is urgently hiring Engineering Equipment Operators (Fire) in the South Fire Zone of Big Pine Key, Florida. This is a unique opportunity for dedicated individuals to play a crucial role in wildfire suppression and prescribed burning operations.
Earn between $30.19 and $35.22 per hour while operating a variety of heavy-duty machinery, including crawler tractors with fire plow attachments, dozers, loaders, and more. Your responsibilities will include not only operating this vital equipment during critical fire events but also performing essential daily maintenance and repairs. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll actively participate in safeguarding the refuge through both proactive prescribed burns and the control of unexpected wildfires.
This Direct Hire opportunity is open to all U.S. citizens and nationals, and unlike traditional federal hiring, veteran’s preference and standard ranking do not apply. All qualified applicants will be directly referred to the hiring manager for immediate consideration.
To be eligible, you MUST have prior experience in wildland firefighting. This demanding role requires individuals who are physically vigorous and capable of meeting established age and physical qualification requirements. Successful candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within six months of their start date and pass a pre-employment medical examination.

Essential Requirements:

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.
