Role Overview

The IMS Ophthalmic Remote Sales Representative will manage national territory sales and customer activities for STERIS’ Instrument Management Services (IMS) ophthalmic portfolio. The representative is responsible for driving sales growth, maximizing account penetration, and fostering strong customer relationships while identifying new revenue opportunities. This fully remote role allows flexibility across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dedicate 75–100% of time to prospecting new business opportunities, focusing on outbound calls.
  • Collaborate with field sales and sales support teams to close deals.
  • Partner with field service teams to facilitate customer introductions and provide support.
  • Participate in customer training events, including learning seminars and workshops.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews, proactive maintenance inspections, departmental evaluations, and in-service sessions, either virtually or in person.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, including customer interactions, sales activities, and purchase orders.
  • Address customer service issues, such as delayed repairs and billing, and escalate them when necessary.
  • Build relationships with industry group chapters and GPOs within the territory.

Desired Professional

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience
  • Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of outbound sales experience
