Role Overview
The Architect 7, Enterprise Architecture, serves as a strategic technology leader who bridges Product and Engineering. This role transforms complex market and client requirements into practical, architectural solutions across advertising and streaming platforms.
The position is responsible for promoting industry and company technology standards, monitoring emerging technologies, and designing scalable infrastructure solutions. Moreover, the architect ensures a strong balance between tactical execution and long-term strategic direction, while considering people, processes, and technology across the enterprise.
Key Focus Areas
1. Enterprise Architecture Leadership
The architect develops Solution Blueprints, Reference Architectures, and Architecture Decision Records that balance delivery speed with sustainability and extensibility. In addition, the role guides product architecture roadmaps that reduce technical debt and deliver measurable business value.
2. Digital Advertising Platform Strategy
The position supports architecture across Streaming Hub, Programmatic Demand platforms, Audience and Identity systems, Measurement frameworks, and Revenue Science capabilities. It ensures unified decision-making across direct and programmatic channels while maintaining interoperability between buy and sell workflows.
3. Cloud and Infrastructure Excellence
The architect provides hands-on leadership in designing cloud native systems using Kubernetes, microservices, and distributed data architectures. Reliability, observability, privacy, security, and cost efficiency are embedded into every design decision.
4. Data, Identity, and Privacy Governance
This role shapes standards for data contracts, consent frameworks, identity alignment, and measurement interoperability. It ensures privacy, audience development, and measurement capabilities using standardized signals and secure identity strategies.
5. Organizational and Technical Enablement
The architect establishes common engineering practices to ensure seamless system interaction. Furthermore, the role mentors engineers and architects, leads architecture reviews, and supports leaders in evaluating build, buy, extend, or deprecate decisions.

- Serve as the primary architecture interface between Product and Engineering teams.
- Convert business requirements into scalable and secure technical designs.
- Lead cross-functional design forums and architecture reviews.
- Define standards for API management, identity frameworks, and data interoperability.
- Promote reusable shared services and platform consistency.
- Drive operational excellence aligned with business SLAs and SLOs.
- Provide proof-of-concept and reference implementations to reduce delivery risk.

Education
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. However, Comcast may consider candidates with a combination of relevant coursework and extensive professional experience.
Experience and Technical Expertise
- 10 or more years in software architecture or engineering.
- 5+ years leading distributed, large-scale, low-latency systems.
- Expertise in Go, Java, or Scala with REST or gRPC services.
- Experience with Kafka or Pub Sub systems and NoSQL or columnar data stores.
- Strong background in Kubernetes, deployments, service mesh, and observability frameworks.
- Experience designing or leading architectures for ad serving and SSP platforms.
- Knowledge of OpenRTB, private marketplace deals, supply path optimization, and auction transparency.
- Practical understanding of identity frameworks, first-party graphs, clean room integrations, and measurement systems.
- Familiarity with OAuth, OIDC, encryption standards, secrets management, and secure API governance.
Bonus experience includes live ad decisioning, SSAI, curated supply strategies, AI/ML platforms, and analytics frameworks.

Compensation and Total Rewards
Comcast offers competitive base pay ranges that vary by location. The national pay range for this role is $149,015.01 USD to $349,253.94 USD, with state-specific ranges applicable in Illinois, Colorado, Hawaii, Washington DC, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, New Jersey, Vermont, Massachusetts, and California.
Compensation is determined based on experience and other job factors. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive bonuses or commissions under applicable plans.
