Role Summary

Visa is seeking a Senior Business Development professional for its Visa Commercial Solutions team in Amsterdam. This role serves as the primary contact for all Visa Commercial Solutions matters in the Netherlands. Therefore, the position focuses on supporting issuers, acquirers, and other ecosystem participants in launching or expanding their commercial payment portfolios.

In addition, the role focuses on driving adoption of Visa’s commercial products for business-to-business use cases across physical, virtual, and mobile environments.

Core Responsibility Areas

Digital Commercial Payment Enablement

The professional drives the adoption of the Visa network and commercial solutions for business payments. As a result, the role supports organizations in leveraging Visa capabilities for procurement, travel, and expense, and broader supplier payment scenarios.

Market and Ecosystem Development

The role requires a deep understanding of the European procurement and travel technology landscape. This includes ERP providers, procurement platforms, corporate travel ecosystems, fintech firms, and payment optimization providers. Consequently, the professional builds relationships with these stakeholders and collaborates with partnership teams to develop referral or reseller opportunities.

Solution Consulting and Opportunity Management

The candidate identifies complex business payment challenges, particularly in procurement environments. Then, in collaboration with product and solution sales teams, the individual designs appropriate payment solutions using Visa products. Furthermore, the professional manages opportunities through the entire lifecycle, from initial engagement to implementation, across Central Europe and multiple industry sectors.

Commercial Strategy Execution

The role works closely with central and regional teams to align on commercial priorities. Therefore, the professional contributes to strategic initiatives and independently pursues new opportunities in the region.

Knowledge Leadership in B2B Payments

The individual develops strong expertise in business payment methods, including account-to-account services, cross-border transactions, request-to-pay models, and open banking frameworks. In addition, the professional understands the evolving B2B marketplace landscape and applies this insight during client engagements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior sales professional who demonstrates consultative expertise, strong client engagement capability, and the ability to lead complex acquisition efforts. Moreover, the individual collaborates effectively across internal teams and represents Visa confidently in external discussions.

Resilience, initiative, and a results-driven mindset are essential. The role requires someone who can work toward ambitious targets while navigating complex stakeholder environments.

Educational Background

A relevant degree in business, finance, technology, or a related discipline is considered beneficial.

Professional Experience

  • Senior-level experience in B2B sales, particularly in digital products or solution-driven environments
  • Experience working with fintech companies, banks, ERP or procurement system providers, acquirers, payment gateways, procurement networks, consultancies, or card networks

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of complex sales cycles and pipeline management
  • Knowledge of the Netherlands market and its key financial and technology players
  • Ability to lead new client acquisition from prospecting through closing
  • Capability to collaborate across multiple internal business functions
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Passion for payments, fintech innovation, and business commerce

Language Requirements

Business-level fluency in Dutch and English is required. Proficiency in German is considered an advantage.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role. The hiring manager will confirm expectations for office attendance.
