About the Role
As a Consumable Territory Manager, the selected candidate will serve as the primary consultant and sales representative for STERIS’s Reprocessing Consumables product portfolio. The role focuses on Instrument Cleaning Chemistries and Sterility Assurance Products, ensuring hospitals and surgery centers have the tools they need to deliver safe, efficient care.
The Territory Manager will be tasked with expanding market presence, safeguarding existing accounts, and driving adoption of new consumable products. Success in this role means balancing proactive sales strategies with exceptional customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a comprehensive business plan for consumable products in the Baltimore territory.
- Develop regular customer engagement routines with well-prepared pre-call planning.
- Meet revenue, gross margin, and product utilization goals through accurate forecasting and execution.
- Strengthen customer loyalty by meeting or exceeding expectations and aligning solutions with client needs.
- Engage with professional associations, such as SGNA, APIC, CS, and AORN, to deepen relationships and credibility.
- Differentiate STERIS from competitors by leveraging value-added services, like training, video resources, and equipment audits.
- Stay informed on GPO contracts to maximize opportunities across accounts.
- Continuously update knowledge of STERIS’s growing portfolio through structured training programs.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 5 years of proven success in B2B or medical device sales.
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements within hospital and healthcare settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of experience selling consumable goods in acute care or surgery centers.
- Demonstrated track record of launching new products and defending market share.
- Strong familiarity with hospital procurement processes, including GPOs, IDNs, and distributors.
- Experience engaging departments such as GI, SPD, and Environmental Services.
