About the Role
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd is seeking an experienced Manager – Product Management to lead strategic business planning for its Auto Sector. The role requires a strong finance-driven approach, with a focus on supporting long-term growth, driving financial benchmarking, and enabling informed decision-making for both organic and inorganic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Planning: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, cost accounting, cash flow management, and tax-related processes while ensuring compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and international standards.
- Financial Benchmarking & Analysis: Conduct regular performance benchmarking against industry competitors to identify growth opportunities for both revenue and profitability.
- Mergers & Acquisitions Support: Provide financial expertise for M&A activities, business integrations, and potential new ventures, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Market & Competitor Insights: Analyze external reports, including those from industry analysts, to assess company performance and guide strategic expectations.
- Strategic Planning Support: Deliver profit-and-loss snapshots and insights to support critical strategic choices at the leadership level.
- Governance & Risk Management: Ensure robust corporate governance, risk management frameworks, and appropriate internal controls, including Power of Attorney oversight.
- Performance Monitoring: Track, forecast, and report business financials, such as volumes, revenue, EBITDA, ROCE, and BEP; recommend corrective actions based on budget vs. actual analysis.
- Management Reporting: Deliver timely MIS reports with actionable insights on cost optimization, operations, and performance improvement.
- Business Case Evaluation: Assess and validate financial feasibility for new projects and synergy-driven initiatives across the Mahindra Group.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Corporate Finance, Taxation, and Legal teams to address key accounting and treasury-related issues.
- Leadership & Development: Drive capability-building within the finance function, mentor teams, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
- Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in product management, financial planning, or business strategy within the automotive or related industries.
- Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in financial management and strategic planning.
- Experience with M&A, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams and drive performance.
