About the Opportunity
Expel is hiring a Technical Account Manager to serve as a dedicated technical advisor for enterprise customers using its managed detection and response services.
This is a remote customer-facing security role focused on platform adoption, technical account health, security integrations, troubleshooting, incident-response coordination, and helping customers realize greater value from their existing security technology.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the technical health and platform adoption of assigned enterprise customer accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with security practitioners, architects, and technical leaders.
- Advise customers on security-program improvements, detection strategies, integrations, and configuration.
- Help customers expand and mature their use of Expel over time.
- Provide technical material and account-health insights for Customer Success-led business reviews.
- Troubleshoot integration and platform issues with Technical Support Engineering, Detection & Response, Engineering, and Product teams.
- Escalate especially complex technical issues to senior Technical Account Managers when needed.
- Coordinate the technical customer response during security incidents while Customer Success manages executive communications.
- Identify technical expansion opportunities such as additional integrations or broader security coverage.
Required Experience
Candidates need at least five years of security-industry experience, with the majority of that experience in consultative, customer-facing roles.
Relevant customer-facing technical backgrounds include solutions engineering, professional services, technical consulting, and similar security advisory functions.
Security Expertise
The role requires deep technical expertise in at least two security product areas, such as Endpoint Detection and Response, Network Detection and Response, SIEM, cloud security, or Identity and Access Management.
Candidates should also understand the detection strategies associated with those technologies and the operational challenges faced by enterprise security teams.
Customer and Consulting Skills
Strong consultative skills are important. The successful candidate should listen carefully to customer needs, understand the customer’s security environment before recommending solutions, and explain complex technical concepts to audiences ranging from SOC analysts to security directors.
