About the Opportunity
ZoomInfo is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across its Platform Engineering organization, supporting Integrations, Workflows & Orchestration, and Data Management.
This is a full-time remote position based in California, United States. The role is a hands-on senior individual-contributor position focused on distributed systems, platform architecture, integrations, reliability, modernization, and cross-team technical leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Rotate across Integrations, Workflows & Orchestration, and Data Management teams to solve complex technical problems.
- Write production-quality code and lead architecture for large-scale platform initiatives.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant, event-driven systems using Java/Spring Boot, Node.js/NestJS, Kafka, and workflow orchestration platforms.
- Lead high-severity incident response and root-cause analysis for systemic reliability issues.
- Modernize legacy systems, consolidate integration patterns, and improve observability.
- Establish engineering practices for idempotency, retries, error handling, state management, API versioning, webhook versioning, and workflow design.
- Shape multi-quarter technical roadmaps with Engineering leadership and Product.
- Lead build-vs-buy evaluations and create architecture decision records and technical design documents.
- Mentor engineers across multiple levels and support senior technical hiring.
Required Experience
Candidates need at least 12 years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in senior or staff-level roles and technical leadership across multiple teams.
The role requires deep experience designing and operating backend distributed systems at scale.
Technical Stack
Strong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot and/or Node.js with NestJS is required.
Relevant experience includes Kafka, Temporal, Google Cloud Workflows, Airflow, APIs, webhooks, CRM integrations, marketing automation integrations, data warehouse connectors, observability, and event-driven architecture.
Integration and Platform Experience
Candidates should have experience building or owning integrations with systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Outreach, Snowflake, or similar enterprise platforms.
Working knowledge of data quality practices such as deduplication, standardization, enrichment, and GDPR/CCPA compliance is also valuable.

This role is remote within California, United States.
Compensation
The published U.S. base salary range is $163,800 to $257,400 USD per year.
Additional compensation may include bonus, commission, equity, and benefits.
