This is a full-time remote position within the United States, excluding candidates who reside in the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, or Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

The role focuses on instructional design, customer education, credentialing, AI-assisted content development, multimedia learning, assessments, and scalable product-training experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with teams across Samsara to define training requirements, learning objectives, and user needs for customers and partners.
  • Design and build learning and credentialing experiences across online learning, audio, video, in-app education, and other formats.
  • Use AI-assisted authoring and multimedia tools to create and iterate on learning content efficiently.
  • Experiment with new instructional-development models, processes, and tools.
  • Gather reviews from subject-matter experts and partners and evaluate other learning content and assessments for effectiveness.
  • Own the learning journey for an assigned Samsara product area, including monitoring product updates and maintaining its curriculum.
  • Develop product expertise through independent research, AI tools, and collaboration with subject-matter experts.
  • Design clear, engaging, and effective assessments.
  • Help scale Customer Education practices and contribute to the team’s instructional-design standards.

Required Experience

Candidates need at least three years of learning-design or instructional-design experience in a software or SaaS environment.

The role requires knowledge of established instructional-design methodologies and demonstrated ability to create learning content that is both effective and engaging.

Instructional Design and Communication Skills

Candidates should be able to translate abstract or technical information into clear learning experiences for both technical and non-technical audiences.

The successful candidate should also understand how to select the right delivery format for a learning objective, including online learning, assessments, audio-based lessons, video, and in-product education.

Tools and AI-Assisted Development

Relevant tools include Parta.io, Articulate, Camtasia, Zoom, Clueso, and other established or emerging content-development platforms.

Experience working within AI-driven content-development workflows, including AI-assisted authoring, review, and iteration, is especially valuable.

Preferred Background

Experience developing in-app training or contextual product education is considered an advantage.

Strong collaboration, visual attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple projects in a fast-moving product environment are also important.
