About the Role
As an Email Deliverability Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining high inbox placement rates and protecting the platform’s sending reputation. You will investigate delivery issues, monitor infrastructure health, and work directly with customers and email providers to resolve problems.
This role combines technical expertise, analytical thinking, and customer support to ensure optimal email performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Deliverability Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor email infrastructure and performance using postmaster tools and internal dashboards
- Identify early warning signals and prevent deliverability issues
- Maintain high inbox placement rates across the platform
Issue Investigation & Resolution
- Analyze logs and diagnose root causes of delivery issues
- Work with ISPs and anti-spam organizations to resolve blocks
- Manage blocklist listings and coordinate delisting processes
Platform Protection & Abuse Prevention
- Monitor spam reports, feedback loops (FBL), and abuse signals
- Detect and mitigate phishing or spoofing attempts
- Identify accounts that may harm platform reputation
Customer Support & Guidance
- Advise customers on authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and best practices
- Conduct audits for list hygiene and campaign quality
- Translate technical issues into clear, actionable guidance
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Identify trends and patterns to improve deliverability at scale
- Document workflows, findings, and best practices
- Contribute to team knowledge and operational improvements
Requirements / Skills
- 3+ years of experience in email deliverability or related roles
- Strong understanding of SMTP, DNS, and email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Experience working with postmaster tools, ISPs, and feedback loops
- Familiarity with blocklists and delisting procedures
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple issues independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL for log analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with email industry communities (e.g., M3AAWG)
- Experience working in high-volume email sending environments
