About the Role
As the Director of Development Operations, you will oversee the full lifecycle of fundraising operations, including grant management, donor relations, and development systems. You will lead the department’s strategy, manage a small team, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
This is a leadership role that combines strategy, operations, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction of the Development Operations department
- Oversee grant writing, proposal development, and reporting processes
- Manage donor data, reporting, and fundraising operations using Salesforce
- Develop and execute donor communication strategies and campaigns
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements, audits, and financial regulations
- Manage and mentor team members within development operations
- Collaborate with program and finance teams on budgets and reporting
- Monitor grant performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Oversee donor stewardship and relationship management
- Support leadership in fundraising strategy and execution
Requirements / Skills
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising operations
- Experience leading development teams or departments
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce (Nonprofit Success Pack preferred)
- Understanding of nonprofit financial compliance and grant management
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Problem-solving mindset with cross-functional collaboration skills
