About the Role
As a Network Security Engineer II, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing a high-availability security infrastructure. You will work with a variety of technologies including firewalls, load balancers, and software-defined networking tools.
This role involves both operational support and strategic implementation, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex networking and security challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain multi-vendor firewall environments (Cisco, Palo Alto)
- Design and optimize load balancing solutions using F5 BIG-IP
- Implement and manage software-defined networking with VMware NSX
- Lead migration projects from legacy systems to modern security platforms
- Provide Tier 3 support for critical network and security incidents
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to design secure solutions
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security reviews
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Document processes and share knowledge with team members
Requirements / Skills
- Experience in network security engineering and infrastructure management
- Strong knowledge of Cisco ASA, Firepower, and Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience with F5 BIG-IP (load balancing and application security)
- Familiarity with VMware NSX and software-defined networking
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network and performance issues
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a 24/7 support environment when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNA Security or CCNP Security
- Palo Alto certifications (PCNSE)
- Experience with F5 or VMware certifications
- Experience managing large-scale firewall environments
