Job Overview
Equinix is seeking a Design Delivery Principal to lead design decisions for a portfolio of data center projects, including new construction, expansions, retrofits, and upgrades. This role is ideal for an industry professional advancing toward expert-level recognition in data center design, with a focus on technical excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance with global standards.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Lead design processes with architectural and MEP partners to deliver world-class data centers
✔ Manage relationships with design partners and suppliers, ensuring high-quality output
✔ Oversee project schedules, budgets, and compliance with Equinix’s Global Design Standards
✔ Collaborate cross-functionally with construction, commercial, and regional teams
✔ Drive innovation by staying updated on the latest design advancements in mission-critical infrastructure
Qualifications
✅ 7+ years in a Design MEP Firm, Mission Critical Building design, or Architectural Leadership
✅ MSc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture (preferred) – BSc accepted with extensive experience
✅ Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA/AIA) certification (desirable)
✅ Strong project management skills with experience in large-scale data center projects

📍 San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: 157,000–157,000–235,000/year
📍 California (Non-SF), CT, MD, NY, NJ, WA: 150,000–150,000–224,000/year
📍 CO, NV, RI: 136,000–136,000–204,000/year
