Position Overview
The LNG Technical Advisor will be based at Shell’s London office and will support the LNG Trading, Operations, and Freight teams in the region. This role combines technical expertise and commercial insight to support LNG operations, ensuring the quality, quantity, and measurement accuracy of LNG cargos, and assisting in resolving measurement disputes. The advisor will also validate custody transfer equipment and laboratory facilities at regional LNG terminals and promote industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical contact for the LNG trading hub in London.
- Monitor cargo data via the Quality Control Module (QCM).
- Validate and approve measurement and testing clauses in commercial contracts and lifting agreements.
- Support day-to-day shipment operations of LNG cargos.
- Resolve technical disputes, including off-spec cargos, equipment failure, and warranty claims.
- Develop and maintain LNG measurement and testing standards.
- Oversee the adoption of industry standards across internal and external testing facilities.
- Provide training to internal teams and external customers on LNG measurement, quality, and custody transfer equipment.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, maritime-related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in LNG custody transfer measurement, supply chain operations, and technical aspects of LNG vessels (FSRU/FSU preferred).
- Strong understanding of LNG and natural gas characteristics and their operational application.
- Familiarity with LNG commercial contracts and their impact on the supply chain and physical operations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Experience collaborating with global, cross-cultural teams and diverse stakeholders.
