About the Opportunity
Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) is hiring an Education Designer to help create and improve online courses and Master Classes covering UX, UI, human-centered design and artificial intelligence.
This is a full-time remote position within IxDF’s distributed organization. Candidates must be based in a time zone between UTC-6 and UTC+8. Although most work is completed from a home office, the position also involves international travel a few times each year for professional studio productions and other in-person activities.
What You’ll Do
As an Education Designer, you will help determine what learners should be able to understand and accomplish by the end of a course and then design the learning experience that gets them there.
- Plan, structure and create educational content for UX, UI and AI courses and Master Classes.
- Develop learning sequences, exercises, portfolio activities, templates and assessments.
- Turn complex design practices into clear, step-by-step learning experiences for both beginners and experienced designers.
- Create assessments that test genuine understanding and practical application.
- Transform expert interviews, transcripts and video material into useful educational experiences.
- Collaborate with Course Directors, editors, UX/UI designers, video teams, growth teams and IxDF leadership.
- Work with industry experts to plan course content and professional studio productions.
- Help produce Master Classes and identify where expert material should be incorporated into existing courses.
- Provide feedback on video graphics, on-screen text, animation and supporting visual material.
- Use learner feedback, completion data and portfolio outcomes to improve existing educational material.
- Maintain clear internal documentation and continuously improve published courses.
Required Background
Candidates must have at least five years of hands-on design experience. IxDF is particularly interested in designers who have repeatedly facilitated workshops, taught courses, mentored designers or created curricula for online learning.
You should also be able to demonstrate something you have personally built, such as a course, workshop series, live Master Class, AI teaching application or mentoring program.
The role requires the ability to explain complex design concepts clearly and structure them appropriately for different formats, including workshops, written lessons and short-form video.
UX, UI and AI Experience
IxDF is looking for someone who understands human-centered design and is actively exploring how AI is changing both design practice and design education. Candidates are expected to use AI as part of their own research, structuring, writing and creative workflows while retaining responsibility for the final result.
The role may involve work across UX design, UI design, human-computer interaction, design thinking, psychology and AI-assisted learning.
Communication and Collaboration
Fluent written and spoken English is required. You should be able to explain complex ideas clearly and work effectively with colleagues, learners and external experts from different backgrounds.
The employer also emphasizes independent judgment, constructive feedback, teamwork, self-motivation and the ability to identify problems and propose practical solutions.
Remote Work and Location Requirement
This is a remote role, but it is not unrestricted worldwide remote employment. Candidates must be located in a time zone between UTC-6 and UTC+8.
Most work is performed from a home office. However, candidates must be willing to travel a few times per year for professional studio shoots and related course-production activities. IxDF also brings its distributed team together in person periodically.
Nice-to-Have Experience
Additional experience that may strengthen an application includes publishing educational material, speaking at design conferences, working with learning management systems or online-learning platforms, building AI-supported learning experiences, collaborating with video-production teams, or maintaining a professional blog or content presence.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in UX, UI, AI or a related field is listed as a bonus rather than a mandatory qualification.
About IxDF
