ZoomInfo is hiring a full-time remote Director of Software Engineering to lead its GTM Store and ZoomInfo Data Platform teams within the Platform Engineering organization.
This senior engineering leadership position is responsible for foundational data infrastructure that stores, ingests, processes, and evolves the data powering ZoomInfo’s go-to-market product suite. The Director will lead senior engineers and technical leads while setting architecture, engineering strategy, operational standards, and long-term roadmaps.
The role covers two major platform areas. The GTM Store is ZoomInfo’s core operational data store based on BigTable, with responsibilities spanning scalability, performance, reliability, capacity planning, and change data capture. The ZoomInfo Data Platform uses BigQuery as an analytical data store and includes ingestion pipelines, data-source onboarding, and systems supporting compliant customer-data deletion.
You will lead and develop senior technical talent, establish engineering priorities, and balance platform scaling, reliability, security, compliance, and data-onboarding requirements. You will also work closely with the VP of Software Engineering and contribute to broader Platform Engineering strategy.
Technical responsibilities include defining architecture and roadmaps for large-scale data stores, improving performance and cost efficiency, establishing monitoring and incident-response practices, and designing reliable change-data-capture systems capable of handling high event volumes.
For the analytical data platform, you will lead ingestion architecture, establish reusable patterns for onboarding new data sources, improve pipeline reliability and observability, and oversee systems handling customer data-deletion requests under privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
Candidates need 8+ years of progressive software, platform, or data engineering experience, including experience operating at a senior leadership level and directly managing senior technical professionals.
Strong knowledge of large-scale distributed systems and operational and analytical data stores is required. Relevant experience includes BigTable, BigQuery, data-ingestion architecture, change data capture, Kafka, Kafka Connect, Debezium or comparable technologies, and data privacy and compliance practices. Experience with GCP, Airflow, event-streaming systems, and self-service data-onboarding tooling is advantageous.
