Doha, Qatar: Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Engineer Planning (R&D) to join its team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting research and development activities, as well as system operational studies in the field of electricity transmission and power generation.
About the Role: As a Senior Engineer Planning (R&D), you will be responsible for leading and participating in various research and development projects related to electricity transmission and power generation. Your primary focus will be on conducting operational planning studies using PSSE software, both steady state and dynamic simulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive operational planning studies using PSSE software, including steady state and dynamic simulations.
- Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to develop innovative research and development projects.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies related to electricity transmission and power generation.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Expert proficiency in running PSSE simulations (steady state and dynamic).
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a similar industry or role.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the field of operation planning research and development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
