Role Summary

The Cyber Security Third Party Contract Assistant Manager plays a critical role in protecting Unilever’s information assets. The position supports the Third Party Contract Assurance Manager by implementing and operating a cybersecurity contracting governance framework. The role ensures that only suppliers that meet Unilever’s security standards are engaged and that appropriate cybersecurity schedules are included, monitored, and reported in supplier contracts.

This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to manage contract risk and ensure ongoing compliance across the global enterprise.

Key Responsibility Areas

Third-Party Cyber Security Governance

The role supports the operation of a third-party cybersecurity contracting framework, including analysis, implementation, remediation, and structured reporting. The focus remains on maintaining visibility of supplier contract status and overall risk posture.

Contract Risk Assessment and Reporting

The Assistant Manager supports the identification and evaluation of cybersecurity contract gaps across different supplier types. Regular reporting is provided to senior management and executives to enable informed decision-making and escalation where required.

Cyber Security Contract Remediation

The role assists in resolving identified contract issues by coordinating with business owners, suppliers, legal teams, and remediation service providers. It also supports communication and engagement activities across internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

Compliance and Control Management

The position supports governance processes for cybersecurity schedules and ensures ongoing compliance for key suppliers, including onboarding new suppliers, managing renewals and extensions, and communicating contractual updates to relevant stakeholders.

The role also contributes to maintaining accurate, up-to-date cybersecurity contract templates and highlights deviations from standard clauses when risks are identified.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Strong stakeholder engagement is central to the role. The Assistant Manager supports relationships across Cyber Security, Legal, Procurement, Privacy, IT, HR, and business teams. The role also serves as a key point of contact for suppliers on cybersecurity contract matters.

Operational Scope

The role operates at a global enterprise level. It maintains strong linkages with Privacy, Legal, and Procurement functions across regions.

Required Candidate Profile

Education and Certifications

A professional qualification in information or cybersecurity, such as CISM or CISSP, is preferred.

Core Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of cybersecurity risk management principles. Familiarity with ISO 27000 standards, NIST, GDPR, and similar frameworks is expected. A sound understanding of IT systems, networking fundamentals, and security control requirements is essential.

Experience with third-party contracting frameworks and supplier risk management is highly valued. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders are critical for success.

Experience Requirements

Essential Experience

The role requires a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in an information or cybersecurity role. At least 5 years of industry experience within a large, complex organization is expected. The candidate should have expertise in assessing data flows, evaluating risks, and reporting against control frameworks.

The ability to influence outcomes without direct authority and achieve results through collaboration is essential.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with corporate cloud service providers is desirable. Exposure to consumer goods or retail environments is considered an advantage.
