What employers mean by “senior”
A senior engineer is not simply someone who has used more tools. A posting may name Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, but the transferable test is whether you can explain ingestion, transformation, orchestration, observability, governance and incident recovery.
Build your CV around outcomes. Instead of “used Databricks,” describe the scale, reliability problem, design choice and measured result. Instead of listing Spark, explain how you diagnosed a bottleneck or controlled cloud cost. Include mentoring, standards or architecture decisions only when you can discuss them in an interview.
