Position Overview
The Advertising Account Executive – Market Retail is responsible for developing, servicing, and maintaining a portfolio of local clients and agencies. The role focuses on achieving annual sales goals within the assigned sales team while providing zone buying opportunities for small advertisers to target specific retail trading areas. This position requires moderate guidance and operates within a medium-budget scope.
Main Responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, and present market research and advertising proposals to support client campaigns.
- Collaborate on marketing activities to generate local advertising revenue.
- Coordinate with internal departments to schedule advertising, monitor accounts, and manage collections.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect records while contributing to sales forecasts.
- Complete documentation for contracts, advertising schedules, sales calls, and expense reports.
- Continuously prospect for new clients in line with the company’s sales strategies.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and manuals while handling confidential information.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary to meet business needs.

Preferred Candidate Profile
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
Relevant Experience:
- 2–5 years in sales, advertising, or related fields
- Skills in prospecting, sales, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in local advertising or retail-focused campaigns
- Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $66,111 – $99,166 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
- Targeted Commission: $48,997 with significant upside potential for overachievement
