The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientific Program Manager (Contractor) to join the Genomics Research Branch (GRB) within the Division of Neuroscience and Basic Behavioral Science (DNBBS). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at understanding the genetic basis of mental illness.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, plan, develop, and direct NIMH extramural research programs.
  • Serve as a contractor Scientific Program Manager for a portfolio of grants, contracts, and/or cooperative agreements.
  • Participate in collaborative activities with other NIH institutes and Federal departments or agencies.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Graduate degree in Life Sciences with a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral experience in biotechnology, industry, and/or academic with hands-on lab experience.
  • Accomplished scientist with a good understanding of how biomedical research is performed and expertise in interdisciplinary genomics research focusing on understanding the genetics of the brain and behavior.
  • Publication record, prior research experience, and evidence of familiarity with current literature in human genomics related to mental illness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
