The Office of the Senate Chief Counsel for Employment is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as defense counsel in labor and employment law matters. This role involves representing Senators, the Vice President, Senate Committees, and other Senate employing offices in a variety of legal proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Defend clients in employment law cases, including litigation in trial and appellate courts and administrative hearings.
  • Conduct legal research, write legal memoranda and briefs, and provide legal advice on a range of employment law issues.
  • Develop and deliver training seminars on employment law topics.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments and maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree and a minimum of two years of experience defending employment claims.
  • Strong knowledge of federal employment laws, labor laws, and constitutional law.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
