Golden, CO – Xcel Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Engineer to join its Integrated Transmission Planning team. The successful candidate will be a technical expert in the field of transmission planning and will play a key role in the development and implementation of Xcel Energy’s transmission system plans.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain transmission system models
- Conduct power flow and stability studies
- Analyze transmission system performance
- Develop and implement transmission system upgrades
- Provide technical support to other departments
- Lead and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 9+ years of relevant experience in transmission planning
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficient in power flow software such as PSSE, PSLF, or TARA
