Virtual/Remote Job Opportunity with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
$89,249 – $116,021 per year
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Technician to join their team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the flexibility of working remotely. The selected candidate will report to a supervisor located in Huntsville, Alabama, but will be physically based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing training range target systems and facility infrastructure, and recommend modifications and upgrades.
- Provide construction reviews of plans and specifications for automated training range projects.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of automated range control systems, power and data wiring, and construction of target emplacements and target mechanisms.
- Prepare technical scopes of work, cost estimates, and schematic engineering designs for proposed range projects.
- Ensure contractors’ compliance with contract requirements for new range construction and compliance with modern target interface requirements.
Qualifications:
- Specialized Experience: At least one year of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) outlined in the job announcement.
- Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of government-owned target control systems, range power systems, range telecommunication systems, target emplacement construction, and industry-standard target mechanisms.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex engineering problems related to automated training ranges.
