Exciting Opportunity to Drive Sustainable Land Management in North Macedonia
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a highly qualified National Technical Project Coordinator to join its team in Vienna. This consultancy position offers an opportunity to contribute to the critical task of promoting sustainable land management and reducing the effects of land degradation in North Macedonia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement project activities related to natural resource management assessment, planning, and evaluation.
- Develop terms of reference for specific project activities and draft agreements with project partners.
- Monitor the work of project partners and ensure the timely and accurate production of project outputs.
- Provide technical inputs to project deliverables and contribute to the development of knowledge management products.
- Liaise with government institutions, municipalities, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare project reports, including progress reports, GEF reports, and monitoring and evaluation reports.
- Contribute to the development of new land degradation and biodiversity-related project proposals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced university degree in environmental/natural resource management, forestry, agriculture, legal sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of experience in natural resource management and project implementation.
- Proven track record of achieving results in project management.
- Leadership and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of project management.
- Working experience in land and forestry management assignments and technical skills in environment/forestry/agriculture aspects.
- Experience working with the UN or other international organizations.
- Fluency in oral and written English and Macedonian is required. Knowledge of Albanian or other languages from the region is an asset.
