Halifax, NS – CGI, a leading global IT and business consulting services firm, is actively seeking a talented and experienced Solution Architect to spearhead the development and optimization of their Digital Banking Application. This full-time position, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge financial technology solutions within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

As a key member of the CGI team, the Solution Architect will be responsible for the architectural design and oversight of scalable and secure digital banking platforms. The role involves close collaboration with diverse stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. This leader will also provide invaluable technical mentorship to development teams, championing best practices and ensuring adherence to stringent industry standards and security frameworks, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of technical knowledge, including proficiency in .NET application development (WebForms, Razor Pages, API design; Blazor is a plus), deep expertise in SQL Server (including on Linux), and strong skills in containerization and orchestration using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Windows Containers, and IIS. Experience with distributed application design patterns such as Domain Driven Design (DDD), Saga transactions, CQRS, and Event Sourcing is highly valued, as is expertise in middleware solutions like Mulesoft or Concert API.

A strong understanding of Azure cloud services and cloud-native architectures is crucial, along with practical experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Bicep templates. The role also requires familiarity with native mobile application development for iOS and Android and a solid grasp of DevOps practices, including Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Beyond technical prowess, CGI is looking for candidates with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, strong communication skills, and proven leadership qualities to inspire and guide cross-functional teams across different time zones and geographies.

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 8 years of experience in solution architecture, preferably within the digital banking or financial services sector. A strong background in cloud-native and distributed application design and experience leading global teams are essential.
