About the Opportunity

OpenAI is hiring a Creative, Experiments to develop original creative work that explores what frontier AI models can make possible across storytelling, design, technology, and interactive experiences.

This is a remote role based in the United States. The position sits within OpenAI’s Creative organization and works closely with Creative, Research, Product, Engineering, Communications, and external production partners.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and contribute original ideas for OpenAI’s Experiments program.
• Own individual creative projects from early exploration through public release in partnership with creative leads.
• Use frontier models to create work with humor, emotional depth, optimism, and meaningful audience impact.
• Prototype early and frequently to test interactions, model behavior, and creative possibilities.
• Collaborate with designers, storytellers, engineers, creative technologists, and production partners.
• Create work across digital experiences, physical installations, objects, film, and emerging formats.
• Coordinate project requirements across internal teams and external makers.
• Use audience response and project learnings to improve future experiments.

Required Experience

Candidates should have at least eight years of relevant experience.

A strong portfolio of original experiments, experiences, or creative projects is required, demonstrating concept development, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and hands-on execution.

Creative and Technical Skills

The role requires a combination of conceptual thinking, experience design, storytelling, and curiosity about technology.

Candidates should be comfortable experimenting directly with frontier models and emerging tools while collaborating effectively with technical specialists.

Project Ownership

Candidates should be able to take ownership of open-ended creative projects, use feedback to refine direction, and balance ambitious ideas with practical scope, timelines, and delivery.

Remote Work

This position is remote within the United States.

Compensation

The published base salary range is $200,000 to $222,000 USD per year.

The role also offers equity. Eligible employees may also receive performance-related bonuses and benefits.
