Job Overview

As Lead Data Scientist, you will design experimentation programs, develop predictive models, lead analysts and data scientists, define analytical priorities, and partner with teams across Cohere to help turn data into product and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead experimentation programs that directly inform product and go-to-market decisions.
• Apply methods including A/B testing, multi-armed bandits, and causal inference.
• Develop and deploy predictive models for forecasting, segmentation, propensity scoring, and opportunity sizing.
• Manage and develop a team of analysts and data scientists.
• Set technical standards and mentor team members.
• Define analytical priorities and allocate resources across competing initiatives.
• Take analytical work from initial question through implementation and production.
• Partner with Product, Research, Sales, and Finance to help shape Cohere’s growth strategy.

Required Qualifications

• Strong command of SQL, Python, and Git.
• Deep expertise in statistical inference, experimental design, and predictive modeling.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous analytical problems.
• Ability to develop clear and compelling recommendations from analytical findings.
• Experience leading analytics or data science teams.
• Ability to manage complex, multi-workstream analytical roadmaps.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence and current AI research.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
• Leadership style grounded in both analytical rigor and empathy.
