Newstead, Brisbane – Cochlear, a global leader in hearing implant solutions, is seeking a motivated Production Team Leader to join their growing manufacturing division. This is a full-time opportunity based in Newstead, offering the chance to directly contribute to the creation of life-changing medical devices.
In this role, you will lead and develop a production team, ensuring efficient and timely adherence to production schedules while maintaining the highest quality standards. You’ll be instrumental in fostering a positive team environment, resolving quality issues, and implementing lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve processes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing a high-performing team through positive role-modeling, coaching, and feedback.
- Overseeing production quality and driving solutions for any quality-related concerns.
- Planning and organizing team workloads using standard processes like Kanban and FIFO.
- Maintaining accurate inventory and traceability within manufacturing operations.
- Actively participating in workplace safety observations and risk control development.
What you’ll bring:
- A passion for lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with digital computer systems (Teams, Riskcloud, Outlook, Oracle ERP, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and motivate.
- Proven ability to prioritize business needs and effectively engage a team.
