About the Role:
As a Backend & Data Engineer at Telefónica, you will be at the forefront of building and maintaining robust data solutions. Your responsibilities will span the entire data lifecycle, from understanding business needs and translating them into technical specifications to deploying and optimizing data platform components in the cloud. You will work with diverse data sources, ensuring data quality and accessibility for various business layers.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Developing and deploying data platform components within cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Optimizing SQL queries and existing solutions for improved performance and cost efficiency (FinOps).
- Upgrading systems to the latest technology stack versions and resolving platform incidents.
- Implementing unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure solution reliability.
- Maintaining strong relationships with team members, Product Owners, and Product Managers.
What You’ll Bring:
Telefónica is looking for individuals with a strong technical foundation and a proactive approach. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a backend development role.
- Proficiency in LINUX, GIT, PYTHON, API REST, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with DOCKER or KUBERNETES and SOLID principles.
- Understanding of Port and Adapters (Hexagonal Architecture) and Testing methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is essential.
- The ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to new technologies quickly.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working with Network OSS (VIPTELA, CISCO, FORTINET).
- Experience with orchestration tools like Cron, AIRFLOW, or PREFECT.
- AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer).
- Knowledge of Telecom Operations.
