Remote-work policies and vacancies change frequently. This directory is designed to help you start on an employer’s official careers page—not to claim that every company below has an opening for every location or role.
How we include an employer: the company must publish an official careers page and describe a current remote, distributed, flexible or location-specific work option. Before applying, always confirm the individual vacancy, location and eligibility requirement on that employer’s own website.
Remote-friendly employers to verify in 2026
GitLab
GitLab describes itself as an all-remote company and publishes its work practices in a public handbook. Visit GitLab Jobs for current opportunities and check the job’s stated location and eligibility. For its handbook-first operating model, see our GitLab remote-work guide.
Automattic
Automattic publishes a remote-work careers page and current openings at Work With Us. The company’s own page explains that availability, process and benefits can vary by role and location.
Zapier
Use Zapier’s official jobs page to review current openings and any hiring-location restrictions. Do not rely on third-party screenshots or reposted application links.
Atlassian
Atlassian publishes openings through its official careers site. Check each listing for the specific team, work arrangement and location.
Shopify
Shopify’s official careers page is the source of truth for current roles and location requirements. A company’s general work-policy announcement is not proof that a particular vacancy is remote.
Other employers
Many employers offer a mix of remote, hybrid and office-based roles. Rather than treating a company name as a permanent remote-work guarantee, search the official career site for the exact team and location. New companies should be added to this directory only after the same check.
How to evaluate a remote opening
- Open the employer’s official career page independently.
- Confirm the title, location, work arrangement and application deadline.
- Read country, state, time-zone, travel and payroll conditions.
- Apply only through the official application path.
- Save a copy of the job description so you can tailor your resume accurately.
Be careful with “work from anywhere” claims
Remote can mean home-based within one city, state or country; it can also include set hours, travel or occasional office visits. If an offer arrives outside the official application process, use our job-scam safety checklist before responding.

Frequently asked questions
Are these companies hiring right now?
Hiring changes frequently. Use the linked official careers pages to confirm current openings before applying.
Does a remote-friendly employer hire from every country?
No. Legal, payroll, tax, security and time-zone requirements can limit a role’s eligible locations.
How can I avoid a fake company job offer?
Find the employer’s careers page independently, compare the job details, and never pay a recruiter or share sensitive credentials through an unverified channel.
