Position Summary

The Staff Psychologist – Telemental Health role is a direct patient care position within the Mental Health Service. The psychologist provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services to Veterans using evidence-based, time-limited therapeutic approaches. This position emphasizes high-quality clinical care, interdisciplinary consultation, and the effective use of telepsychiatry to improve access and outcomes for Veterans.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Clinical Care and Therapeutic Services

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Regular consultation with medical center staff and other disciplines is a core component of the role—clear communication and collaborative problem-solving support coordinated, Veteran-centered care.

Supervision, Education, and Service Contribution

While the position does not include formal administrative duties, the psychologist may supervise trainees, including interns, fellows, and unlicensed psychologists. Participation in training seminars, applicant interviews, performance improvement initiatives, and ad hoc committees is also expected.
