Madrid, Spain – Energy giant Repsol is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Trading Compliance Analyst to join their Wholesale Gas and LNG team in Madrid. This full-time, hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a lean yet impactful team responsible for a broad range of compliance activities.
What you’ll do: As a Compliance Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in facilitating business operations while effectively managing various business risks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough third-party due diligence on companies, individuals, and vessels, utilizing screening software and KYC processes.
- Monitoring international sanctions regimes and advising the business on diverse third-party risks such as anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, and data protection.
- Providing expert guidance on the compliance implications of new business initiatives.
- Reviewing and drafting compliance-related clauses in contracts.
- Continuously enhancing the Wholesale Gas Trading Compliance program and internal control framework.
- Proactively monitoring relevant external regulations and assessing their impact on business operations.
- Developing essential operational compliance tools, including policies, procedures, and checklists.
- Creating engaging training materials and leading training sessions for stakeholders on critical compliance topics.
- Collaborating effectively with corporate functions like Legal, Audit, and Corporate Compliance.
What you’ll bring: To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Compliance Analyst positions (2+ years).
- Expert knowledge of energy trading, shipping, and/or financial markets regulatory environments.
- A deep understanding of international sanctions regimes and their application to trading and shipping.
- High proficiency in both English (C1 level) and Spanish.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
