Algolia is hiring a Customer Success Engineer to help customers successfully adopt, implement, optimize, and scale its AI-powered Search & Discovery platform. This is a remote position available to candidates working within Australia.
The Customer Success Engineer combines technical consulting, implementation support, solution design, and long-term customer guidance. You will work directly with customers across different architectures and use cases, helping them build scalable and performant search solutions while serving as a technical owner for assigned accounts.
Responsibilities include delivering technical consulting services, designing and presenting workshops, advising customers on search implementation and optimization best practices, and working alongside Customer Success Managers to support long-term customer health.
You will proactively identify technical risks and bottlenecks, guide customers on optimizing their environments, escalate complex issues when necessary, and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop deeper subject-matter expertise and provide customers with reliable technical guidance.
The position also involves maintaining and presenting customer case-status reports and supporting Algolia’s Professional and Expert Foundation offerings through clear communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
Candidates need 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical position, such as Customer Success Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or technical consulting, preferably within SaaS.
Technical requirements include functional knowledge of at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Ruby, or Python, together with experience using REST APIs, databases, and web-development technologies.
Candidates should also have experience delivering technical workshops covering areas such as training, knowledge transfer, implementation, or code review. Strong technical communication, troubleshooting, time management, prioritization, and customer-facing problem-solving skills are important.
Experience implementing or optimizing search and discovery products, developing generative AI or agentic applications, working in high-growth SaaS, supporting open-source communities, or using platforms such as Shopify, Magento, and Salesforce is advantageous.
The role is explicitly remote within Australia. Algolia states that jobs designated Remote are available for remote work within the specified country.
Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.
The stated On-Target Earnings (OTE) range is A$130,500–A$163,000 AUD per year, consisting of base salary and commission. Actual compensation depends on location, technical skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
