About the Role
As an HR Specialist (U.S.), you will act as the primary HR partner for employees across the United States, ensuring a seamless employee experience from onboarding to offboarding. You will work closely with internal teams including payroll, legal, and operations to maintain compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all HR processes.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage onboarding processes, ensuring all documentation and systems are properly completed
- Oversee offboarding activities, including resignations, terminations, and compliance checks
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
Employee Support & Relations
- Serve as the main point of contact for HR-related inquiries from U.S.-based employees
- Provide timely, professional, and solution-oriented support
- Build strong relationships with employees throughout their lifecycle
Payroll & Benefits Coordination
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely data input
- Manage employee benefits, including enrollments, updates, and renewals
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for benefits administration
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws
- Prepare HR documentation such as contracts, letters, and policy updates
- Stay updated on legislative changes and support compliance audits
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal departments including legal, payroll, and operations
- Support hiring coordination and onboarding with sales and portfolio teams
- Contribute to process improvements and HR best practices
Requirements / Skills
- 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience within the United States
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and multi-state regulations
- Experience managing employee lifecycle processes and HR operations
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with global or multi-country HR environments
- Familiarity with Canadian HR practices
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Experience using digital workflows and AI tools in HR processes
