Microsoft’s Financial Services Industry (FSI) team is dedicated to enabling financial institutions across the UK to harness the power of technology and create long-term societal prosperity. As part of this mission, the Account Executive for Insurance & Investments will play a key role in transforming how Microsoft’s most strategic clients adopt AI, Copilot, and Security solutions to drive measurable business impact.
Role Overview
This position focuses on managing and expanding relationships with major clients in the insurance and investment sector. The Account Executive acts as a trusted advisor — aligning Microsoft’s technologies with the customer’s digital vision to accelerate transformation, maximize adoption, and achieve shared business outcomes.
This role reports to the Enterprise Sales leadership within Microsoft UK and requires working three days per week in the London office.
Strategic Objectives
1. Transformative Account Leadership
Leads the development and execution of strategic, multi-year customer account plans. The role involves orchestrating diverse internal teams and partners to ensure business alignment and consistent revenue growth while delivering solutions that drive tangible outcomes.
2. Deep Customer Engagement
Builds and nurtures strong executive-level relationships across client organizations. By anticipating customer needs and leveraging industry expertise, the Account Executive ensures Microsoft’s solutions are embedded in the customer’s long-term strategy.
3. Industry-Focused Strategy & Insight
Applies comprehensive knowledge of the financial services landscape to identify opportunities, address challenges, and craft tailored digital transformation strategies.
4. Sales Excellence & Growth
Owns end-to-end account performance, achieving revenue, consumption, and adoption targets. The role involves driving competitive differentiation, ensuring customer satisfaction, and leading initiatives that strengthen loyalty and trust.
5. Collaboration & Ecosystem Development
Engages with a network of partners and internal stakeholders to co-create innovative digital solutions, fostering a “One Microsoft” approach that amplifies business value.
What Microsoft Looks For
Professional Attributes
- Proven record of managing executive relationships and influencing at senior levels.
- Experience in Enterprise Sales, Consultative Selling, or Business Consulting.
- Knowledge of the Insurance or Financial Services sectors (either client-side or vendor-side) is preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic problem-solving skills.

Qualifications & Experience
