Full Stack Engineer – AgentControl, Generative AI (US Remote)

The Full Stack Engineer will build and operate production systems across backend services, APIs, distributed infrastructure, and customer-facing web experiences while contributing to LaunchDarkly’s AgentControl platform for managing and optimizing AI agents in production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable backend services, distributed systems, and APIs supporting the AgentControl product.

  • Use technologies and services including AWS, CockroachDB, Datadog, DeepEval, and FastAPI.

  • Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate technical tradeoffs and make informed design decisions.
  • Stay current with developments in AI and software engineering best practices.
  • Take ownership of production code.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Improve the reliability and maintainability of production systems over time.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Track record of shipping production-quality full-stack features.
  • Hands-on experience building generative AI features, AI agents, or applications involving large language models.
  • Experience integrating models directly or using AI services such as OpenAI, Google Cloud AI, AWS Bedrock, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, or deploying AI services in production.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Experience writing production-ready software with an emphasis on quality and maintainability.
  • Experience with distributed systems or data-ingestion systems.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Ability to work effectively within a communicative and collaborative engineering environment.
  • Comfort operating through ambiguity in a rapidly evolving technical domain.
  • Interest in staying current with AI advancements.
  • Strong ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions.

  • Zone 2 – Irvine, Los Angeles, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago: $154,100–$211,860 USD per year.
  • Zone 3 – All other U.S. locations: $145,500–$200,090 USD per year.
