About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on the systems behind bunny.net’s CDN, DNS services, and Bunny Shield security platform. You will help improve caching, routing, DDoS mitigation, and edge security technologies while building highly scalable backend systems.
This role combines backend engineering, network performance optimization, and edge security development in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimize high-performance backend systems using C# and .NET
- Improve CDN infrastructure and edge security services
- Develop distributed systems capable of handling large-scale traffic
- Enhance caching, routing, and protocol performance
- Collaborate with security and network engineering teams
- Support TLS/SSL, HTTPS, and reverse proxy optimization
- Lead projects from architecture to deployment
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operational performance
- Contribute to Bunny Shield’s WAF and DDoS mitigation platform
Requirements / Skills
- Strong backend development experience with C# (.NET)
- Experience with Java or Go is also valuable
- Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable infrastructure
- Familiarity with reverse proxies such as Nginx
- Understanding of networking concepts and internet protocols
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
- Passion for performance optimization and clean code
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CDN platforms or edge infrastructure
- Knowledge of WAF, DDoS mitigation, or bot protection systems
- Experience building performance-critical applications
- Interest in networking and security engineering
- Open-source contributions or side infrastructure projects
