Nokia is seeking a Filing & Prosecution Specialist to join its Filing and Prosecution Administration team in Finland. This role supports Nokia’s Patenting organization in building, maintaining, and strengthening a global patent portfolio. The specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that patent filing and prosecution activities are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with global requirements.

Working closely with internal patent practitioners and external associates worldwide, the role contributes directly to the quality, integrity, and timely management of Nokia’s intellectual property assets.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Patent Filing and Prosecution Support

The specialist supports and collaborates with patent practitioners throughout the filing and prosecution lifecycle of patent applications. This includes coordinating documentation, managing correspondence, and ensuring procedural accuracy across jurisdictions.

Docketing and Data Management

A core responsibility is to create, maintain, and update accurate records in intellectual property management systems. The role requires consistent attention to data quality, completeness, and reliability.

Electronic Filing and Documentation

The position handles patent application filings through electronic filing systems and prepares a variety of patent-related documents and official correspondence, including responses to office actions and other procedural communications.

Deadline and Workflow Management

The specialist proactively manages patent prosecution dockets, tracks deadlines, and ensures that all required actions are completed within established timeframes. Close coordination with internal and external stakeholders is essential to meeting these obligations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational Background

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and/or a paralegal certificate. This educational foundation supports the role’s analytical, procedural, and organizational demands.

Professional Experience and Skills

The role requires three or more years of experience in European and PCT patent application filing and prosecution. Experience with Finnish and UK patent filings is considered an advantage. The candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Communication and Collaboration

Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential. The specialist is expected to work effectively in a team environment while also operating independently with professionalism and self-discipline.
