Main Responsibilities
Thermal Testing and Measurement
The working student supports climatic chamber tests, power dissipation studies, and temperature measurements. In addition, the role includes infrared thermography measurements and analysis, which strengthen the validation of thermal performance.
Design and Prototyping Support
The student creates and adapts CAD models for fixtures, prototypes, and test setups. Therefore, design contributions directly assist experimental and validation activities.
Data Analysis and Documentation
The position involves preparing test reports, analyzing collected data, and maintaining structured documentation. As a result, findings remain traceable and actionable for engineering decisions.
Laboratory Operations
Daily lab support includes setup preparation, sensor integration, thermocouple installation, and data acquisition hardware configuration. This ensures the smooth execution of ongoing development and testing tasks.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Academic Background
Applicants are enrolled in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, physics, or a related discipline.
Technical Knowledge
Candidates demonstrate foundational knowledge of thermal engineering and heat transfer. Familiarity with CAD tools such as Catia, NX, SolidWorks, or similar software is expected. Initial exposure to CAE thermal simulation tools such as Ansys Icepak, FloTHERM, or Star-CCM+ adds value.
Practical Skills
A strong interest in laboratory work is essential, since tasks may involve physically demanding activities. Moreover, a proactive mindset and willingness to engage in hands-on engineering tasks contribute to success in this role.
Language Requirement
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required for effective communication in the international team environment.

Employment Details
- Duration: Six months, with extension possible up to two years
- Working Hours: 20 hours per week, up to 35 hours per week during semester breaks
- Compensation: 17.80 euros per hour
- Remote Work: Possible within Germany upon agreement
