Role Purpose

The Technician, Maintenance (Automotive) is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repairs on the assigned automotive fleet. The role ensures that all equipment operates with optimal integrity, reliability, and performance, in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and established technical standards.

Core Responsibilities

Automotive Maintenance & Diagnostics

The technician performs routine servicing tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air-conditioner recharges, alignments, battery replacements, and lighting system installations. All tasks must align with approved HSE requirements and technical guidelines.

In addition, the role requires conducting comprehensive diagnostic assessments to accurately identify faults and recommend suitable repairs in accordance with defined procedures. Vehicles must be inspected for safety and emission compliance, and necessary rectifications must be completed before conducting test drives to confirm performance standards.

Furthermore, the technician:

  • Carries out scheduled inspections to maintain equipment efficiency and operational integrity.
  • Test vehicles and stationary equipment after repairs to confirm satisfactory functionality.
  • Reads diagrams accurately and interprets gauges and meters to support troubleshooting.
  • Attends breakdowns promptly and restores equipment to service while observing all safety protocols.
  • Ensures strict adherence to safety procedures, particularly in hazardous environments.
  • Maintains continuous system functionality through repair, adjustment, or replacement of automotive components.
  • Updates the computerized maintenance management system with accurate job data and prepares required reports.
  • Provides status updates to the Team Leader regarding work orders, schedules, and safety permits.

Quality, Systems & Compliance

The technician implements and complies with all functional policies, systems, and procedures to achieve operational objectives. Participation in internal and external ISO and quality audits is expected, as well as collaboration during equipment inspections aligned with quality schedules.

Training & Capability Development

To support competency development and national workforce initiatives, the technician provides structured on-the-job training aligned with competency-based training programs.

Tools & Equipment Management

All tools, equipment, and safety gear must be maintained in safe working condition. The technician arranges repair or replacement when necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Time & Resource Management

Maintenance tasks must be completed within the assigned time standards. If additional resources are required, the technician informs the Maintenance Supervisor promptly to avoid operational delays.

Continuous Improvement

The role contributes to identifying opportunities to improve operating procedures, modify functional processes, and enhance machinery performance. Active participation in improvement initiatives strengthens operational efficiency across the fleet.

Health, Safety & Environmental Commitment

Compliance with ADNOC HSE policies, sustainability guidelines, and applicable legislation is mandatory. The technician also participates in emergency response duties when assigned. Throughout all activities, a clean and organized work environment must be maintained in line with established hygiene and housekeeping standards.

Reporting & Documentation

The technician collects field data to support section progress reporting and contributes to the preparation of method statements. Additionally, the role requires initiating near-miss reports and providing technical inputs for management review.
