Day-to-Day Impact
The Supervisory Contracting Officer independently executes contracts, monitors contractor performance, and ensures compliance with all procurement regulations. This includes conducting pre-solicitation and pre-award reviews, developing standard operating procedures, and overseeing contract closeouts. Beyond contract responsibilities, the incumbent supports institutional security as part of the FMC Carswell team. Success in this role requires striking a balance between operational oversight and leadership, as well as problem-solving and strategic guidance, to ensure the institution operates smoothly.

Academic & Professional Background
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field, or
- 24 semester hours in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
Additional Qualifications:
- Three years of graduate-level education or a Ph.D. in related fields, or
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, including conducting pre-solicitation conferences, developing SOPs, or performing pre-award contract reviews.
Candidates must meet federal employment eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, security clearances, drug testing, and other special conditions of employment.

This role may require occasional travel for training or work-related purposes; however, telework is not an available option. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. Candidates must be prepared for probationary or trial periods to evaluate performance, conduct, and contribution to agency goals. The representative rate for this position is $88,418 per year ($42.36 per hour).
