Role Summary
The Digital Product Fellow. Mobile, Visibility, and Browse. Plays a central role in shaping the future of FedEx’s digital products. The role focuses on building strategic pathways, guiding digital innovation, and leading initiatives that improve customer interactions across the tracking page and the consumer mobile app. The fellow collaborates closely with internal teams and senior leadership to deliver impactful digital experiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Direction and Strategy
The fellow defines the long-term vision for key digital products. They outline strategic priorities and build product roadmaps that align with organizational goals. They assess customer needs, business value, and technical feasibility to set the right direction.
- Collaboration With Cross-Functional Teams
The role requires ongoing teamwork with engineering, design, data, and marketing teams. The fellow ensures product goals are clear, timelines are aligned, and all partners work toward shared outcomes.
- Customer Research and Experience Improvement
The fellow investigates user behavior, studies market shifts, and uses customer insights to guide product decisions. They advocate for customers and ensure that digital solutions meet real user needs.
- Full Product Lifecycle Management
The fellow manages ideas from their earliest concept to post-launch evolution. They monitor performance, study feedback, and guide improvements that elevate product quality and business impact.
- Data Driven Decisions
The fellow uses analytics platforms to measure KPIs, evaluate performance, and uncover new opportunities. Decisions rely on reliable data and measurable outcomes.
- Communication and Stakeholder Alignment
The fellow presents strategies, updates, and results to senior leadership. They ensure every decision fits the broader business goals and is understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship
The fellow guides junior product managers. They help shape their skills in strategy, agile processes, and collaboration.
Candidate Background
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or any related field. 10+ years of practical experience can replace formal education.
Experience Requirements
Six or more years in product management. Three or more years of that experience at a senior or lead level.
Skills and Expertise
- Experience guiding digital products from concept to launch.
- Strong knowledge of agile development.
- Ability to analyze data and turn insights into strategic actions.
- Clarity in communication and confidence in leading teams.
- Experience working in fast-paced technology environments.
- Technical understanding to support product discussions.
- Experience in digital product management within SaaS, ecommerce, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Aha, Google Analytics, and Mixpanel.
- Interest in emerging technologies and ongoing market shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience on the FedEx tracking page enhancements and mobile app improvements.
- Experience launching new digital product initiatives focused on early-stage customer engagement.
- Ability to set KPIs and mentor team members on product development workflows.
